A Great Marketing Lesson from the JV Queen

September 18th, 2007

It has been awhile since I last posted on my blog. I will try to post more often.

Something happened yesterday night that pleasantly surprised me.

In fact it was much more than that. It left me feeling ten feet tall and extremely happy.

Almost a month ago, I emailed my list about one of the most viral sites ever.

The site was 117 self-improvement gifts

I even made a referral sale from their one time offers.

The site is managed by Gina Gaudio-Graves and Henry Gold.

If you don’t know Gina’s inspiring story yet, I urge you to go to the above website and and look around and read her personal story.

It will motivate you like a Tony Robbins Seminar.

Gina has come from extreme adversity to a flourishing online business.

Those who know her affectionately call her the “JV Queen”, because of her ability to create huge and profitable JV partnerships.

Anyways…

Time passed.

Days later I wrote to their help desk asking when they would send me the commissions I had made.

They said they would send the payment by email around September 12th.

September 12th came around and nothing.

I wrote them back again and got no answer.

Then late last night (at around 3am) I was watching a movie on my computer when I got the nudge to visit the 117 self-improvement gifts website.

I saw that there was a contact number. Thinking that it was their help-desk number, I decided to give them a call.

You won’t believe who picked up the phone.

It was Gina Gaudio-Graves.

Now, you have to realise that we have never met or talked to each other before.

I asked her what time it was.

She told me it was around 4am.

I apologised to her and let her know that I didn’t know I was calling her on a personal number.

She told me it was ok. She was busy working on a presentation for an upcoming tele-seminar.

Gina then spent the next 10 minutes talking to me about marketing and giving me valuable advice.

I was absolutely amazed by this.

Not many successful marketers give out their personal numbers like this. Let alone dispense free advice when they could easily charge you for it.

Gina explained that she enjoyed keeping in touch with her customers.

The whole time you could feel that she is very humble and down to earth despite her enormous success.

She was extremely friendly and had a great personality.

There is a great marketing lesson in this.

For one thing she keeps in touch with her customers to know exactly what they want. In this way, she can create the right kind of products for them.

This creates a win-win situation.

Second, the fact that she was giving me (a total stranger) valuable marketing tips lets me know that she is someone that provides value to people.

And she wasn’t even expecting anything in return.

When you provide value, people will rush towards you to spend their money on you and your products.

The law of reciprocity is involved here.

The more good that you give to others, the more it will come back to you multiplied.

That’s a universal law!

Go ahead and check out her website (she has many others, just google her).

The Story of the Prince and the Talk Show Host

August 4th, 2007

It seems that everyone is looking for the “secret’ to success.

Well, let me tell you that there is no one, single secret.

Success involves many different steps or “secrets”.

I am going to give you one of these secrets. It’s illustrated in this story. It is a true story.

I have not seen the show myself (since I don’t speak Arabic), but it is a very well known story in the Arab world.

Prince Talal bin Waleed was being interviewed on an Arab talk show.

If you don’t know who he is, Prince Talal bin Waleed is one of the richest men in the world. As of 2007, his net worth is estimated at US$20.3 billion and he is ranked by Forbes as the 13th richest person in the world, and the richest Arab.

Anyways….

The talk show host asks Prince Talal, “What is the secret to your success.”

Prince Talal doesn’t reply.

Instead he reaches into his pocket and takes out his cheque book.  He writes a figure on the cheque and offers it to the talk show host.

The presenter takes a look at it and is stunned.

The cheque is for a whopping one million dollars ($1,000,000).

“Here, take this,” says the prince.

To which the talk show hosts replies, “No, thank you.”

The audience is holding their breath. There is pin-drop silence as everyone in the studio is waiting to see what happens next.

“No really, take it. It’s yours. No strings attatched,” says the prince.

To which the talk show host replies again, “No, thank you.”

To this day, I have no idea what was going on through the host’s mind. Maybe he was being polite… Maybe he didn’t need a million dollars….

In any case, the prince asked him one last time: “Here, take this cheque for a $1,000,000. It’s yours to keep.”

And sure enough, the talk show host again said that he did not want it.

Prince Talal then takes the cheque, tears it up and proclaims:

This is the secret to my success. I saw opportunities and I immediately took them. I received a chance to make money and I took action. You had a chance to do the same just now, by accepting the million dollars that I offered you, but you hesitated and did not take it. That’s the secret of my success.”

There you have it. This is one of the secrets of successful people.

You have to take action once you get a money- making idea.

As Dr. Joe Vitale (from www.mrfire.com) like to say, “Money likes speed.”  And he is absolutely right.

Have you seen the movie Sicko yet?

July 31st, 2007

I watched the movie Sicko last night.

It is directed by Michael Moore.

Moore is one of those people who is either loved or hated.

I enjoy his work. I have seen his previous work like Bowling for Columbine and Farenheit 9/11.

Search for them on www.imdb.com

They were both really insightful. Moore’s films delve deep into the current fabric of society.

His latest film Sicko is no different. It is about the health care system in the United States, which as the film proves is dismal.

It shows how health care has been turned into another (highly profitable) business.

I wont spoil it for you.  But you need to watch this film.

It opens your eyes.

Talk to you soon.

This is my first entry!

July 29th, 2007

In the Name of God, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful.

It’s about time I got my own blog, don’t you think?

All successful and wealthy marketers have one. ;-)

I started doing Internet Marketing a month ago after graduating from college.

You can find my first product at www.hiddenmindsecrets.com

Go and have a look, it won’t cost you a thing just to look.

Anyways…

Like I said, it has been a month and I have made some decent sales which have brought in some good money.

But I have not reached my goal yet.

God Willing, I will reach my goal and surpass it.

“But what is your goal?”, I hear you ask.

My goal or intention is to design my own life. It is to have the Ultimate Internet Lifestyle.

Here is how I define the Internet Lifestyle:

It is the ability to do what you want, when you want.

It is to be able to have, be or do anything that you desire.

It is to have more money that you can spend…with more income coming in everyday.

And I am taking about the type of income that is NOT depended on how hard you work or how many hours you put in.

I am talking about passive income. Multiple streams of passive income.

It is to be able to travel and see all the wondrous places on God’s green earth.

The Internet Lifestyle is about being able to benefit others with the money that you receive.

This includes family, friends, neighbours, your community, perfect strangers and anyone else who may be in need.

It is about being able to purchase your dream car which in my case is the exquisite BMW X5.

It is about being able to playing with the idea of buying a yacht.

Even though I don’t want a yacht. But just being ABLE to buy one if I wanted to. That’s the beauty of it.

It is about having freedom. The freedom to choose. It is about having financial freedom. It is about living in a gorgeous two-floor house with 10 rooms, a swimming pool, Jacuzzi and a grass field where me and my friends can play soccer.

It is about being happy, surrounded by loved ones.

The Internet Lifestyle is about not having to worry about bills, unforeseen expenses etc.

It is about going to the finest restaurants and ordering delicious meals without having to look at the prices first.

It is about not having to work for anyone. It is about being your own boss.

So that is my goal and intention.

What’s yours?

Anyways…

Talk to you soon.

Koorosh
